more consistency in transform patch fillmode across osx versions
when you select the pont raster in the fill mode of the patch transformer in leopard you get a raster of round dots but in snow leopard and tiger at least in our experience with different osx and md8 versions you get rectangular dots.
an option to choose between rectangular and circular dots or just having round dots would be nice. but i guess it has something to do with the core of the operating system. if else it should be a quite small tweak...
cheers!

Unlock preview the preview window
Make it possible to unlock the preview window so that you can move it to another screen. Why? If you have another monitor where you like to blow up the preview window or if you are using AirDisplay on your iPhone or iPad. Must be easy not to make that window conform to the main screen. But I think it should have the option to lock/unlock kind of like the mouse has. That together with a second preview window = even sweeter.

Improved A/B Fader Controls
The ability to have the fader on be default is an obvious missing setting right now. But building on that - CUT buttons similar to the V4 allowing instant cut to desired side. Also a duration dial that can go from 0 (cut) then 1-10 (short -> long fade).
Currently the module GN Crossfader+Cut does this but it should be in the main gui.3 votes -
Add transition effects, good ones.
Not cubes, wipes and other iMovie effects. But something more like resolumes static, displace, timeswitch etc. Complex transitions for animating clip switching.

Make all GUI buttons assignable.
Most buttons are assignable but a couple of key ones aren't - namely the preview window select panel (GRID,LAYER,GROUP INV.....). Also the X Center button should be assignable so we can quickly centre a clip.
Also Show/Hide modules button on module panels - so if I need to check a setting and quickly show it then hide quickly - also means I'm less likely to press the close module icon (which should be on the right side beside start/stop module buttons).3 votes -
Set default Modul8 UI state
I like my fader set to on, a blank layer on each and Blur set to Box & min. Everyones different so we should be able to make a setup we're happy with then have an option under the Modul8 menu - Save default state.

Group modules with tabs to separate them
The option to group modules in one window, with tabs to separate them like you can with Photoshop panels. At the moment the modules disappear behind other windows and clutter my desktop. I use as few modules as possible for this reason, and it limits my work a fair bit.

Ability to set latch to Midi controllers that don't do it automatically
Some controllers let you set a button to be either an on/off or latch on/latch off setting - but lots of controllers don't.
Right now I can turn on a effect (lets say blur) as soon as I let go - it turns off. I want to be able to press ON, let go, and then press it again to turn it off.
Probably best offered as a right click on each button - basically if I can right click on a button and turn latch on/off it would solve a lot of issues we're having with midi.2 votes -

Logical Render with Audio
It would be great to get the audio through with which the session was recorded. (Maybe it´s only me , but after 2 days i cannot remember which track i used to drive the visuals) . Even if its just a link to the audio file to get a clue. But greate would be if the audio is embedded in the final video file.

Layer Trace pls
Wouldn´t it be great to have a "layer trace"?
I know you can workaround with filters, but it´s not the same.So vote for layer trace, because then the magic happens on the layers and not on the complete composition.
